Great changes have taken place in Hainan since it was approved the special economic zone 20 years ago. Today Hainan is undergoing a new round of opening to the outside world at a wider scale, more extensive range and higher level. Being the only tropical island-based province of China, Hainan features all-summer-like climate with average yearly temperature of 23.8℃. Hainan is the second largest island of China, continent area of which is 35,000 sqkm, covering over 2 million sqkm of marine space. The population of Hainan is 8.2 million. Haikou is the capital city of Hainan. In 1999, Hainan started to build itself into an ecological island, the first of its kind in China. THE OPEN, CONVENIENT ENTRY POLICY
海南岛是中国最大的经济特区，享有中国大陆最优惠的入境政策，外国人士和港澳台同胞出入海南岛非常便利。Being the biggest special economic zone of China, Hainan has been granted with the most favorable entry polices of mainland China for foreign travelers, compatriots from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan alike.
海南享有“落地签证”政策，凡与我国有外交关系或官方贸易往来的国家或地区的人士，持护照到海南可享有“落地签证”政策。在海南签证后，可在中国大陆任何口岸出境。
Hainan enjoys “landing visa” policy. People from countries and regions with diplomatic or official trading relations with China are entitled to “landing visa” policy upon arriving. After the visas are processed in Hainan, travelers can leave China through any port of mainland China.
21个国家旅游团队到海南享有“免签证”政策。凡是日本、新加坡、马来西亚、泰国、韩国、菲律宾、印度尼西亚、德国、英国、法国、奥地利、意大利、俄罗斯、瑞士、瑞典、西班牙、荷兰、美国、加拿大、澳大利亚、新西兰等21个国家5人以上的旅游团队到海南停留时间不超过15天可通过海南的国际旅行社办理免签证。
Tour group comprising 5 persons and above from 21 countries is free of visa within 15 days: Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Korea, Philippines, Indonesia, Germany, England, France, Austria, Italy, Russia, Switzerland, Sweden, Spain, the Netherlands, US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. The visa-free procedures can be processed through Hainan International Travel Agency.
香港、澳门居民可凭《港澳同胞回乡证》或《港澳居民来往内地通行证》来海南，无需申请签证。台湾同胞可在海南口岸申请一次入出境有效的《台湾居民来往大陆通行证》。
Residents of Hong Kong and Macao can visit Hainan by holding Home Return Permit for Hong Kong and Macao Residents or Pass of Hong Kong and Macao Residents for Traveling to and from Inland China, where visas are not necessary. Taiwan residents can apply for one-off Pass of Taiwan Residents for Traveling to and from Mainland China at Hainan port.

海南是中国开放第三、四、五航权的试点省，允许国外航空公司经营到海南的国际航线，可延伸到中国大陆所有对国际航班开放的城市，以及从这些城市延伸到海南的国际航线可享有中途分程权。
Hainan is an experimental province for the opening of the 3rd, the 4th and the 5th freedom of access that allow foreign airlines to operate the international air routes to Hainan and any other city of China opened to international flights. The international fligths extending to Hainan are entitled with mid-way split-ranging rights.
海南岛拥有海口美兰国际机场和三亚凤凰国际机场。目前，已开通30多条国际航线和100多条国内航线。跨海铁路和西环铁路已开通，东线轻轨正在建设中，环岛高速公路和三纵四横的高等级公路连接主要的旅游城市和度假区。热爱自驾的朋友可以自驾的方式进行环岛游，经琼州海峡到南中国海，畅享海南“一脚油门踩到底”，没有关卡，畅通无阻的行驶快感。
Hainan can be accessed by two international airports, Haikou Meilan and Sanya Phoenix respectively. Currently, over 30 international flight courses and more than 100 domestic routes have been tapped. Cross-Qiongzhou-Strait railway and western expressway are ready for service; eastern light railway system is under construction; round-island expressway and the all-directional high-class highroads lead to all major tourist cities and attractions. You can take on a round-island tour through self-driving. All these make transportation easy in Hainan by “one step on accelerator leading to the destination”.
